I Hear the Train A Coming and a Health Care Crash
I’m still not sure if people understand why we need a mandate amendment to the Constitution. Why we need to stop the government from mandating what goods and services United States citizens have to purchase. We keep bringing up the evils of Obamacare, but much of that discussion is still theory since it hasn’t fully taken effect yet. But don’t worry, there is another example with a track record. That would be one of the two other Government run institutions in this country, Amtrak.
Amtrak was formed in 1971 to save the passenger railroad industry. The golden age of railroading was long gone, overtaken by the airline industry and all the big railroads were failing. The government in it’s infinite wisdom decided to take over the railroads, splitting the passenger and freight operations. The problem is, the railroads were mostly failing because of the passenger business.

But then, the government knows best. Do you know that since 1971 Amtrak has never turned a profit? Not once. Now I suppose we could blame some of it, maybe even the first 20 years on the fact that the railroads were so run down and in need of repair that all the revenue made went into upgrades and repairs. We could but my guess is we would be wrong. When you spend $16 on a hamburger and bill the whole thing to the taxpayer, that might have something to do with it. Then there is the fact that it actually cost more to take the train than to take a plane and it takes more time.
Twenty one years of losing money. Any other business would be closed down, but not one run by the government. The point is when the government runs anything it loses money. The other government run entity is the Post office. How is that doing?
When Obamacare takes effect, we will see the same thing, $16 hamburgers and less services. Bloated union pensions and wages. Paperwork and red tape galore. It’s all coming, and if we allow the government to run other businesses, the same thing will happen to the, as well. Government bureaucrats don’t know how to run businesses. They only know how to make more government.
We need to stop this from happening, not only is it wrong for the government to force us to buy things, but it will cost too much money. Join our cause. Help us, we are looking for volunteers for all kinds of things. Whatever you do well, or even not so good at, we can use you.
Send us an email, leave a comment, head to our Facebook page. We won’t turn you away.
Don’t let your children and grandchildren inherit a world where government and corporations can force them to door buy anything at whim. Help make a difference in their lives today.

The government will never do anything with the efficiency or cost-savings as a private company.
Another mandate, which might wake up quite a few people, is to have every worker write out and send to the government their quarterly tax payment. We’re so used to receiving a pay check at the after-tax amount, we’ve become desensitized to what the government does take. I think a lot of people would be very upset if they were aware of how much the government steals from us every pay period.
I agree Marla. If people actually looked at their pay stubs and realized just how much is taken away from them, they would revolt. Same with all the other taxes which they pay every day without even noticing them, sales tax, gas taxes, etc. Paul
